Since I began studying Japanese Western Classical Music, I became drawn to the tonal works of Toru Takemitsu. This is my vocal-orchestral arrangement of one of his most popular pieces.

Here's the story: I wrote this single to be recorded by a local artist who bailed on me at the last possible minute. I was actually previewing the piece with one of my students when I got the rejection text. I thought my student sounded better than the original singer, I asked her if she wanted to record, she said, "yes" and the rest is available on iTunes. She did it in one take. No edits.
